The Welsh Flag - a striking kaftan of green, white
and red cotton by Sara Perceval, the red dragon motif embellished with red
sequins, Swarovski clear and siam crystals, gold beads and gold braid with a
large clear rhinestone for the eye; with matching chiffon coat, the back
similarly decorated with a red dragon motif.
The photograph illustrated shows Dame Shirley wearing this kaftan and coat at
the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, 1st
November, 1999. She also wore the coat during the closing ceremony a few days
later on 6th November, 1999 where she sang We'll Keep A Welcome In The Hillsides
with Michael Ball and Bryn Terfel.
