A shimmering sleeveless stage gown, the gold gauze
ground covered with iridescent gold sequins and embroidered overall with
Swarovski clear crystals and tiny imitation pearls and tassels of white beads
terminating in aurora borealis crystals, the skirt slit at the left to the upper
leg and lined in gold voile, the fitted bodice labelled inside Isabell
Kristensen London; and a matching pair of court shoes with waisted heel, stamped
inside Gina.
The photograph illustrated shows Dame Shirley wearing this dress during a
publicity shoot for her 60th Birthday Concert, July, 1997. The dress is also
featured on the cover of the album The Show Must Go On,
1996.
