An elaborate stage coat by Douglas Darnell, the
high caped neck and short sleeves laden with flowerheads of delicate
petal-shaped pale blue and ivory iridescent sequins, Swarovski light sapphire
crystals, mirror sequins and blue beads, studded with large imitation pearls and
drops, the gown of pale blue and silver lamé fastening at front, with flowing
train, lined in silver silk tissue
Weight: approx. 2.5kg.
According to Darnell, this coat was worn over the tangerine dress [Lot
18] when it had a straight sheath skirt.
