Description & Notes

A twinkling stage gown by Douglas Darnell, the white silk chiffon ground encrusted with white bugle beads and scattered with Swarovski aurora borealis crystals, the thin shoulder straps crossed above a low-cut back embellished with two long strands of imitation pearls and crystals terminating in tassels of imitation seed pearls and crystal pendants, the bias cut skirt with flowing train, lined in silver silk tissue

Weight: approx. 3kg.

According to Darnell, this was originally made in the 1960s to the cut-out design [see Lots 10 and 49].
