Note

On the US release, Shirley Bassey Belts The Best! The Lady Is A Tramp does not appear but Side A instead starts with Goldfinger.

On the cover of Shirley Bassey Belts The Best! there seems to be an error with the track lengths for two songs: People is stated as 2:25, though the track is indeed 2:50. I Could Have Danced All Night is stated as 1:07, though the track is indeed 1:53.
As a result of these errors, some people assume that they are different/new recordings, but the tracks are the same as on the UK release, Shirley Stops The Shows.

From Shirley Bassey Belts The Best!

One of the world's foremost entertainers is that dynamic vocalist, SHIRLEY BASSEY, a devastatingly beautiful woman who has completely enthralled audiences in her British homeland and all throughout Europe. Miss Bassey can truly boast of a style all her own and there are few singers, if any, who throw themselves so completely into a song. It is not an uncommon sight to see tears rolling down Shirley's lovely face during the performance of a tender ballad, while the reckless abandon which she bestows to an up-tempo selection more often than not creates an electricity which sets audiences tingling with excitement.

Miss Bassey is certainly no stranger to America. She has appeared in many of the better cafes f
rom coast to coast, has been on major television programs and even was seen in a memorable recital at New York City's famed Carnegie Hall recently, a concert at which a packed audience rose to their feet as one at the conclusion and cheered Shirley to the rafters for a full ten minutes.

Now more than ever is the United States ready for this Shirley Bassey collection. Just recently, Shirley performed the title tune from the action-packed James Bond thriller, "Goldfinger", beneath the actual film credits, and the selection was issued as a single. It became a runaway success despite the fact that it was not rock and roll, so that now, after being the darling of those "in the know", Shirley Bassey is now enthusiastically being accepted by both our public and the sophisticates alike. "SHIRLEY BASSEY BELTS THE BEST!" is living proof of whys and wherefores of this great and well-deserved popularity. In the album, the songstress has hand-picked a dozen superb examples of Broadway and Hollywood tunes and gives them a lustre which they have never had before and a feeling which will rarely, if ever, be equalled. Here then is "SHIRLEY BASSEY BELTS THE BEST!", a magnificent blending of some of the best songs ever to emanate from the stage or screen, magnificently rendered by a lady of incomparable talent.
