In 1976 someone wrote: 'During her lifetime she has received twenty five gold albums from all over the world including South Africa, but ironically her first ever from her own country was last year for "The Shirley Bassey Singles". Even "Goldfinger" was a gold album in the United States, but not in this country and naturally it was an immense source of delight to Shirley that finally this honour was bestowed upon her in Britain.'

Not to be confused with the 1992 Australian release of the same title.
