Translation

"Stars in the Studio" - a TV broadcasting series of the SFB brought international show business stars to Berlin.

DIONNE WARWICK, JOE WILLIAMS and MARLENA SHAW, together with the SFB-Big-Band, gave their show in "Studio A" at Berlin's TV-centre at "Theodor-Heuss-Platz".

"All About Shirley", a special about SHIRLEY BASSEY, had also been produced in Berlin for the SFB and the BBC under the direction of Dieter Finnern, just as a broadcasting with the chansons of MILVA, as well as solo performances of the Yugoslavian star trumpeter MILO PAVLOVIC. Especially worth mentioning another special: LAURA BRANIGAN - an unknown talent. The SFB presented this interpreter with the musical background of the SFB-Big-Band directed by Paul Kuhn already 1979 to the German TV public, so at a time where Laura Branigan was not known to the public neither in the USA nor in Europe. Musical cut-outs of these TV broadcastings give an overview about the work of the entertainment department of the SFB on the areas of swing, pop, jazz and chanson.

We present this record to the friends of our company as a thank you for their interest in the productions of the SFB.

Note

The part with Shirley Bassey was recorded in 1972 and was broadcast on the BBC in the UK as "Show Of The Week". On German TV the show was called "All About Shirley" and it was repeated about 1976/77. A complete list of the songs Shirley Bassey sung on the show were as follows:

Light My Fire
Big Spender
I've Never Been Woman Before
Johnny One Note
Diamonds Are Forever
Yesterday When I Was Young
It's Impossible
As I Love You
On A Clear Day You Can See Forever
(Where Do I Begin?) Love Story
Till Love Touches Your Life
Something
Excuse Me

In the TV special an interview was included with Shirley and Sergio Novak (her then husband).

So, it would appear that I (Who Have Nothing) had been recorded at the same time, but not shown on TV. It has a long trumpet solo at the end.
