Note
From the UK release, By Mort Lingford
1970 heralded the return to England of the
decade's brightest shining star, Shirley Bassey. After two years' absence the
question Shirley asked in a song was Does Anybody Miss Me. The answer was found
in the reception she received at London's top nightspot The Talk Of The Town. A
complete sell out, everybody missed her.
The title of this album reflects the message in the song All Of Me, 14 of the
greatest tracks Shirley recorded between 1959 and 1966 are gathered on this one
album to give not only wonderful value but a cross section of this unique
artist's skill, coupled with the outstanding arrangements of Nelson Riddle,
Geoff Love, Johnnie Spence and Tony Osborne and all tracks produced by that
modern recording maestro Norman Newell.
A very famous man once said of Shirley, "When Shirley does a number, it is
HERS". This well-balanced selection can now be YOURS and really be All of
Shirley Bassey.[Home]
