It's Not Unusual

It is rumoured that Shirley Bassey recorded a duet of this song with Tom Jones in 1975. Though it sounded good, Shirley Bassey didn't wanted it to be released. Tom Jones respected her wish and so this recording maybe lies in dusty archives somewhere.

This is an unconfirmed rumour only and some doubt that the duet was actually recorded. It would probably have been leaked if it existed, as Tom and Shirley have many fans who would want it. It may have just been discussed by the two artists. Both artists were on different record companies at the time and permission would have been needed to release such a recording - this too has never been confirmed. In 1986 Shirley Bassey sang "We'll Keep A Welcome" together with Tom Jones and Des O'Connor in his Christmas Show. And in 1971 in the Tom Jones show they sang "With A Little Help From My Friends" together.
