Makin' Whoopee

Released on the 1995 album Shirley Bassey Sings The Movies. Previously sung by Frank Sinatra and also by Ray Charles and many other artists. From the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" 1993, but I don't know who sang the song for the soundtrack.

Thanks to Marius I understood the word "Lohengrin" in row one of the lyric. She means the wedding march from Richard Wagner's opera "Lohengrin". It is one of the two famous marches being usually played at weddings. (The other one is from Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.)

Hugely popular romantic comedy, about a recently engaged woman (Meg Ryan) who hears the sad story of a grieving widower (Tom Hanks) on the radio and believes that they're destined to be together. She's single in New York, he lives in Seattle with a young son, but the cross-country attraction proves irresistible, and pretty soon Meg's on a westbound flight. Sweet romantic comedy, with perfectly cast stars, though its repeated allusions to the old tearjerker "An Affair To Remember". The movie got Academy Award Nominations: Best (Original) Screenplay, Best Song ("A Wink and a Smile").
